Delta Air Lines Resumes Nonstop Services from San José to Las Vegas and Detroit

New flights will bring Delta’s peak summer daily departures to 23, serving seven nonstop destinations

San José, Calif. – San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) is pleased to announce that Delta Air Lines is adding a daily nonstop route to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas (LAS) after a five-year hiatus. Available for booking now, the flight will commence on May 7, 2025. Operated by SkyWest’s Embraer ERJ-175 aircraft, the daily service will bring Delta’s total peak summer daily departures at SJC to 23 and will offer the only option for premium seating between SJC and LAS. This brings the total number of SJC-LAS departures to 15 on peak days.

Delta will also re-launch nonstop service between SJC and Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), on a seasonal basis, between July 7 and November 30, 2025, operated by a Boeing 737-900 aircraft. Delta also offers nonstop flights from SJC to Atlanta, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Salt Lake City and Seattle.

In addition to providing the only nonstop service between Silicon Valley and the Motor City, Delta’s new Detroit service will connect San José and the South Bay with the carrier’s second-busiest hub and easy connections to cities across the northeast and mid-Atlantic.

“Delta’s growth at SJC is a testament to San José’s strength as a gateway to Northern California,” said San José Mayor Matt Mahan. “As we prepare to host hundreds of thousands of people in 2026 for the Super Bowl and World Cup events, these new flights from SJC to Detroit and Las Vegas are timed perfectly to connect our cities.”

“I am pleased with Delta Air Lines’ continued expansion and steady growth at SJC,” said San José City Manager Jennifer Maguire. “These new connections will help more people visit family, do business, and experience all the Bay Area has to offer via the region’s most convenient and reliable airport. I look forward to their future development at SJC.”

"San José Mineta International Airport welcomes Delta’s additional flights, bringing further flexibility and choice to Bay Area travelers flying to Las Vegas, Detroit and beyond," said SJC Director of Aviation Mookie Patel. "We look forward to welcoming more travelers to experience our ‘Fly Simple.’ ethos for themselves."

Delta previously flew nonstop between SJC and LAS from 2016 to 2020, and between SJC and DTW from 2018 to 2020.
