San José Mineta International Airport Again Named Best Midsize U.S. Airport

Wall Street Journal 2023 rankings latest to recognize SJC’s reliability and convenience

San José, Calif. — San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) has been recognized as the Best Midsize Airport in the United States, according to the Wall Street Journal's 2023 Airport Rankings. The rankings, which assess the 50 busiest U.S. airports across 30 factors — including on-time performance, security waits, customers’ opinion on specific airport amenities and ticket prices — place a significant emphasis on reliability.

SJC excelled in reliability, value and convenience — outperforming all of the top 50 airports nationwide.

“San José has a lot of things to brag about — we are the safest city in the Bay, the most innovative place in the world, and have some of the best weather on the planet. And those who have visited us for one of those reasons know that we also have the most reliable, convenient airport in the nation,” said San José Mayor Matt Mahan. “If you want to get where you’re going, there’s never been a better place to start, or end your journey than SJC.”

SJC moved up from 3rd place in last year’s Wall Street Journal rankings. Earlier this year, SJC was also named Best Midsize Airport in North America by travelers in the global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program.
