Quick. Easy. Dependable. That’s SJC. When you fly through our Airport, you’re going to have a simple, seamless experience – and we want that simplicity and convenience to be present in every aspect of your travels here. That’s why, today, we’re thrilled to reintroduce ourselves as San José Mineta International Airport.
(Footage of Norman Y. Mineta is from the documentary Norman Mineta and His Legacy: An American Story, produced and provided by the Mineta Legacy Project, and Bridge Media, Inc.)
Cue the new logo. It’s vibrant and energetic like Silicon Valley, and simple and intuitive like the SJC experience. In the symbol, you’ll see an overhead view of a plane, its wings and directional airfield symbols. It demonstrates forward motion. The colors represent the City of San José’s flag and the local climate. (Think sun. Warmth. Poppies. Ocean. California.)
You’ll notice our name is updated, too. Instead of “Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport,” it’s now “San José Mineta International Airport.” Simpler, right? We’re leading with location so travelers can more quickly identify the Airport and strengthen the geographical association with San José. This also moves “Mineta” to the heart of our name; Secretary Mineta was a champion for transportation, this Airport and this city, and his legacy will remain a central influence on our mission of connecting, serving and inspiring our community.
Oh, and the new tagline? “Fly Simple.” After all, at SJC, you get from the curb to your gate in minutes.
We’ll be rolling these updates out over the next few months. We can’t wait for you to see where we’re going. Stay tuned, and as always, thank you for choosing to fly SJC.
